The Worldwide Electric WDN750E-series 100 HP variable frequency drive (model WDN750E-750HF) delivers high-performance sensorless vector speed control in a compact, UL-listed chassis. Configured for 460V three-phase input and output, it's purpose-built for pumps, fans, conveyors, HVAC equipment, and general-purpose motor control in industrial and commercial installations across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
Ratings at a glance
| Duty | HP | Output Current | Overload |
|---|---|---|---|
| Constant Torque (CT) | 100 HP | 149 A | 150% for 60 sec |
| Variable Torque (VT) | 125 HP | 160 A | 120% for 60 sec |
Dual-rated drive: use the higher VT rating for fans, centrifugal pumps, and other variable-torque loads. Use the CT rating for conveyors, positive-displacement pumps, and any constant-torque application.
Why choose the WDN750E-750HF for your application
- 200% starting torque at 1 Hz (sensorless vector mode) — handles loaded starts on stuck pumps, heavy conveyors, and cold-morning HVAC equipment without stalling
- Permanent magnet (PM) motor ready — future-proofs your install as high-efficiency PM motors become the standard in Colorado upgrades and retrofits
- Built-in Modbus RTU and built-in PID loop control — automation-ready out of the box, no add-on cards required
- UL 61800 listed — passes commercial and industrial inspection requirements in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Utah
- Temperature-controlled fan with runtime monitoring — fan runs only when needed, reducing dust accumulation in aggregate, agricultural, and Front Range industrial environments where airborne particulate is a constant threat to drive reliability
- Independent forward/reverse torque boost — optimizes performance on bidirectional loads like gates, hoists, and reversing conveyors

Colorado altitude sizing considerations
VFDs are less altitude-sensitive than motors, but derating still applies at Colorado elevations. The WDN750E is rated for full output up to 1,000 m (3,280 ft). Above that, plan on roughly 1% current derating per 100 m. In practical terms:
- Denver/Front Range (~5,280 ft): consider sizing one HP step up from your motor nameplate
- Colorado Springs to Fort Collins (~5,000-6,000 ft): same — one step up is typical
- Mountain installations (Leadville, Summit County, Aspen, above 8,000 ft): may need two HP steps up, plus consider enclosure ventilation

Typical applications
- Centrifugal pumps in HVAC, water/wastewater, and irrigation systems
- Conveyors and bulk material handling
- Mixers, agitators, and industrial blowers
- Compressors and general-purpose machine tools
- Retrofits of across-the-line motor starters to capture energy savings
- Replacement for Baldor, ABB ACS drives, Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4/40, Yaskawa V1000/GA500, Hitachi WJ200/WJ-C1, and similar general-purpose drives
