Common questions

What if you do not have the motor I need?

We are authorised dealers for dozens of manufacturers and source outside our own stock most days. If we do not have the exact motor, we can usually get it in your hands within two to five working days. Tell us the horsepower, speed, frame, voltage and enclosure and we will price it.

Can you identify a motor from its nameplate?

Yes. Type what the plate says into our cross-reference finder and it will read the horsepower, speed, frame, voltage and enclosure and match it against what we stock. If the plate is hard to read, text a photo of it to (720) 208-3277 and we will identify it for you.

Can I run a three-phase motor on single-phase shop power?

Yes. Up to 5 HP a single-phase input drive does it directly, taking single-phase in and putting three-phase out. Above 5 HP you need a rotary phase converter, or a three-phase drive at roughly double the rating derated for single-phase supply. Whichever route you take, the motor should be inverter duty.

Can you install the motor as well as supply it?

We have installers across Colorado and can supply and fit. Tell us where the job is and what the motor drives, and we will quote the work with the parts.

Do you repair motors, or only sell them?

Both. We rewind and repair electric motors as well as supplying new ones, and we offer on-site diagnostics. For an older or larger motor, a repair is often the cheaper answer — call and we will tell you honestly which way is better value.
