Understanding Your Results

Drop-In Replacement

Bolts directly onto your existing base. Uses your existing coupling, conduit, and wiring. Same NEMA frame, same shaft diameter, same mounting face, same voltage. A maintenance technician can install it in under an hour.

Minor Modifications

Same HP, RPM, frame family, and voltage — but a small difference: a different frame suffix (T vs TC), a better enclosure rating, or a different mounting face. Typically requires a new coupling or small adapter hardware. Call before ordering so we can confirm what you'll need.

Requires Professional Installation

Same HP and RPM, but a critical spec differs — voltage, frame size, phase, or mounting style. Never install this type of motor without a licensed electrician (for voltage or phase changes) and likely a machine shop (for frame or mounting changes). Installation costs often exceed the motor price.

Colorado Altitude Upsize

At Colorado elevations (5,280 ft — 10,000+ ft), continuous-duty motors lose 3–10% of their rated capacity due to thinner cooling air. If your current motor runs hot, runs hard, or was specified at sea-level ratings, consider one HP step up. Not needed for short-duty or lightly-loaded applications.
